Call for Action: Adeyanju Demands Dismissal of EFCC Officials Tied to Alleged N15 Million Bribe from Bobrisky

Published

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju is urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to dismiss and prosecute officials allegedly involved in a N15 million bribe scandal linked to popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, commonly known as Bobrisky.

In a statement he released, Adeyanju commended the EFCC for launching an investigation into these serious allegations, highlighting the importance of such inquiries in the fight against corruption and the preservation of the rule of law.

The controversy emerged from an audio recording leaked by the user VeryDarkMan, in which Bobrisky alleged that EFCC officials received a N15 million bribe to dismiss money laundering charges against him. He also claimed that his godfather played a role in ensuring he avoided a six-month jail sentence at Kirikiri prison. However, Bobrisky later retracted his statements, labeling the audio as fake.

He emphasized that such measures would enhance public trust in the agency’s commitment to combating corruption. Additionally, he stressed the need for transparency and accountability to maintain public confidence, urging the EFCC to keep citizens informed about the investigation’s developments and outcomes.
