Tinubu to Inaugurate New Projects at UNILORIN’s 39th Convocation

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate newly completed projects at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) during its 39th convocation ceremonies on October 22, 2024. The event marks a significant milestone in the institution’s development, with various activities lined up to celebrate its academic achievements.

In addition to the commissioning, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, will deliver a convocation lecture titled “Nurturing Democratic Values and Education for the Future of Nigeria” on Friday, October 18, 2024. This lecture is part of a series of events highlighting the university’s contribution to the nation’s educational and democratic growth.

According to a press release from the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, the convocation ceremonies will kick off with a Vice Chancellor’s press briefing on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the University Auditorium.

Following the lecture on October 18, a convocation play titled Nilee Wa’ (In Our Land) will be staged at the Performing Arts Theatre. The main convocation ceremonies will take place on October 21 and 22, 2024, recognizing graduates from various programs, with President Tinubu’s visit scheduled for the second day, where he will unveil new campus projects.
