Couple Beheaded in Abia: Three Arrested in Connection to Shocking Murder

In a tragic event that has shocked the Etiti Ulo community in Bende Local Government Area, Abia State, three individuals have been arrested in connection with the brutal beheading of 78-year-old Udo Jacob and his 73-year-old wife, Dorcas. The couple’s bodies were discovered in their home on Wednesday, October 4th, 2024, after they were viciously attacked and their property looted.

The horrific incident, which occurred earlier on Tuesday, prompted an outcry from local leaders, including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu. Kalu condemned the crime and called on law enforcement agencies to swiftly apprehend those responsible, urging a thorough investigation into the matter.

The Abia State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa, has confirmed the arrest of three suspects. Police Public Relations Officer Maureen Chinaka revealed that the crime scene was immediately secured, and the bodies were moved to a mortuary for autopsy. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Umuahia.

Commissioner Isa has reassured residents of Bende that the police are committed to unraveling the mystery behind the murders, promising justice for the slain couple. He also appealed to the public to remain calm as investigations continue.
