Davido Honors Late Friend DJ Olu Seven Years After His Passing

Afrobeat sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Olugbemiga Abiodun, better known as DJ Olu, who tragically passed away seven years ago. On Monday, Davido reposted a nostalgic photo of the two on his Instagram story with the simple yet touching caption, “Billi 4ever.”

DJ Olu, who was the official disc jockey for Davido during his lifetime, was found dead on October 7, 2017, alongside his friend Chime Amaechi. Both were 25 years old at the time of their passing.

The son of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, DJ Olu’s legacy lives on through the Gbemiga Abiodun Memorial Education Support Programme. To honor his memory, the initiative recently awarded ₦91,050,000 in scholarships to 1,000 students across primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions in Ogun State. This marks the second edition of the program, which continues to make a significant impact in the lives of young learners.
