N34 Million Medical Aid Approved for 46 Ondo Residents

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved N34 million in medical assistance for 46 residents as part of the state’s Medical Assistance Programme. This initiative provides crucial support to individuals facing medical challenges who are unable to afford necessary treatments.

The announcement was made by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Akaka, during a cheque presentation ceremony held at the Ministry of Health in Akure on Tuesday. Dr. Akaka represented Governor Aiyedatiwa, who has made it clear that prioritizing the well-being of citizens is a fundamental aspect of his administration’s mission.

In his address, Aiyedatiwa urged the beneficiaries to use the funds strictly for their medical expenses, ensuring that the assistance directly addresses their healthcare needs. Although the state originally sought N230 million for the programme, only N34 million was approved due to budgetary constraints, limiting assistance to these 46 individuals.

Dr. Akaka expressed gratitude for the governor’s compassionate decision and encouraged beneficiaries to fully utilize the support provided. He also highlighted the importance of enrolling in the state’s health insurance scheme, which will help residents maintain access to affordable healthcare services in the future.
