Daniel Bwala Assumes Role as President Tinubu’s Official Spokesman

Daniel Bwala, once an aide to Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has officially stepped into his new role as President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson. Following his recent appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications to the President, Bwala’s new position comes as a pivotal addition to the administration’s communication strategy.

Taking over from Ajuri Ngelale, who vacated the role in September due to health concerns, Bwala began his responsibilities on Monday with a firm focus on serving the President’s mandate. Speaking to State House correspondents during his inaugural briefing, Bwala pledged to remain undeterred by critics, emphasizing his commitment to the tasks ahead.

“My job is to serve the President, and my responsibility is clear. The President leads the team, and we function as he directs,” Bwala stated. He described his appointment as a continuation of his predecessor’s efforts, reiterating the administration’s goal of serving the people and fulfilling the President’s objectives.

Bwala underscored the constitutional framework guiding his role, referencing Section 5 of the Nigerian Constitution, which places executive powers in the hands of the President. “We are all colleagues in this administration, but ultimately, as appointees, we are servants of the President,” he remarked.
