Benue PDP Elects New Leadership, Ezekiel Adaji Named Chairman Adaji Vows to Reconcile Aggrieved Party Members

In the midst of internal turmoil, the Benue State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected a new leadership, with former House of Representatives member, Chief Ezekiel Adaji, emerging as the new chairman.

Adaji was elected during the state congress held in Makurdi on Thursday, leading a newly constituted 27-member State Executive Committee. The announcement was made by Alh. Ibrahim Shaba, the leader of the Benue State PDP Congress Electoral Committee.

Alongside Adaji, key officials elected include Dan Nyikwagh as State Secretary, Tim Nyor as Publicity Secretary, Ibya Terkimbil as Youth Leader, and Mrs. Alice Albert as Women Leader. They were sworn in by Friday Ejembi, the Caretaker Committee’s Legal Officer.

In his acceptance speech, Adaji expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from party members and emphasized his commitment to strengthening the party’s leadership. “Our state needs leadership, and we will not let the party down. We will work tirelessly to bring the PDP back to power,” he said. He also announced plans to form a reconciliation committee to address grievances within the party.

Shaba confirmed that out of 2910 delegates, 2900 were accredited to participate in the congress election.
