Federal High Court to Begin Yuletide Break on December 16

The Federal High Court of Nigeria will begin its 2024 yuletide vacation on December 16, as announced by the Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho. This break will run until January 6, 2025, with court proceedings set to resume on January 7, 2025.

In a circular issued on Wednesday, Justice Tsoho outlined that the vacation period will accommodate only urgent matters. These include cases related to fundamental rights, the arrest or release of vessels, and issues of national significance. During this time, the Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt divisions will remain operational to address these urgent cases.

The vacation judges appointed for each division include:

• Abuja Division: Justices Emeka Nwite and M.S. Liman
• Lagos Division: Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac Dipeolu
• Port Harcourt Division: Justices P.M. Ayua and A.T.

These judges will manage litigation throughout the holiday period.
