Israel’s military announced extensive airstrikes on Thursday, targeting hundreds of Hezbollah rocket launchers prepared for attack against Israeli territory. This escalation comes in the wake of a deadly incident earlier this week where Hezbollah’s communication devices exploded, killing 37 members and injuring thousands due to explosives hidden within batteries.

UN peacekeepers, known as UNIFIL, expressed concern over the increased violence, urging all parties to de-escalate tensions along the Blue Line, which demarcates the border between Lebanon and Israel. In a statement, UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti described the past 12 hours as a “heavy intensification of hostilities.”

Impact on Civilian Areas
Israeli airstrikes struck at least three villages in southern Lebanon, leading to a cloud of smoke visible from nearby locations. In response, Hezbollah reportedly launched a guided missile at Israeli troops in Metula, an area frequently targeted by the group. Causalities and Broader Implications
