Ndume Calls for Ifeanyi Ubah’s Widow to Succeed Him in Senate

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has urged the Nigerian Senate to appoint the widow of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as his successor for the Anambra South Senatorial District. This appeal was made during a valedictory session on Tuesday to honor Ubah, who tragically passed away in July at the age of 52.

Ndume highlighted that appointing Ubah’s wife would ensure the continuation of his legacy and political aspirations. Drawing comparisons to other political legacies, Ndume pointed out examples such as First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, who followed in the footsteps of her husband, former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu, as well as Margery Okadigbo, who succeeded her late husband, Chuba Okadigbo, in the Senate.

The Borno South senator noted that Ubah’s widow, around 50 years old, had been a strong support to her husband during his political career. He emphasized that having a representative from Ubah’s family in the Senate would honor the wishes of the Anambra South Senatorial District and preserve the late senator’s vision for his people. Ndume called on Senate leadership and his fellow lawmakers to support this proposal.
