Okpebholo Appoints Fred Itua as Chief Press Secretary Ahead of Inauguration

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Governor-elect of Edo State, has appointed Fred Itua as his Chief Press Secretary ahead of his upcoming inauguration. The announcement, made by Okpebholo’s media team on Monday in Abuja, marks the first official appointment of his incoming administration.

Fred Itua, a distinguished journalist with years of experience in leadership and media, previously worked with Leadership and The Sun newspapers. As Chief Press Secretary, Itua will oversee the governor-elect’s media operations, ensuring effective communication with the public and the press.

Itua holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and a Master’s degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja. He is also in the final stages of completing his PhD thesis in Development Communication at Veritas University, Abuja. His extensive career includes coverage of critical national issues, including the National Assembly, migration, health, anti-corruption, and environmental matters.
