Tragedy in Ekiti: One Killed, Four Rescued from Kidnappers

A recent kidnapping incident along the Isan-Iludun Ekiti road has left the community reeling after one victim was killed and four others were rescued. Among the victims was 22-year-old Oguntuase Idowu Oguntuase, whose life was tragically cut short by the attackers.

The assault occurred on Sunday evening when armed assailants targeted the victims on the Isan-Iye Ekiti road. Reports indicate that the driver for the Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government was shot during the confrontation.

DSP Sunday Abutu, the Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed that all abducted individuals were rescued unharmed and that authorities are actively pursuing the suspects involved in this violent act.

During a legislative session on Tuesday, Hon. Princess Iyabo Okieimen-Fakunle, the representative for Ilejemeje Constituency, addressed the situation, mourning the loss of life and noting the five individuals who were abducted near Iludun Ekiti on September 22.

Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye, alongside other lawmakers, expressed their condolences regarding the death of the promising young man, Idowu Oguntuase, and extended sympathies to both the affected lawmaker and the local community grappling with this heartbreaking incident.
