University of Abuja Names Mrs. Islamiya Abdulraheem as Acting Registrar

The University of Abuja’s Governing Council has officially appointed Mrs. Islamiya Abdulraheem as the institution’s Acting Registrar, marking a new chapter in its administrative leadership. The decision, made during the Council’s 71st Extraordinary Meeting on November 5, 2024, recognizes Mrs. Abdulraheem’s extensive experience and commitment to the university’s mission.

Mrs. Abdulraheem steps into this role after an impressive tenure as Deputy Registrar, where she oversaw responsibilities in the Vice Chancellor’s Office and managed critical duties as Deputy Registrar for Establishment. Her appointment is set to commence on November 12, 2024, succeeding Malam Yahaya Mohammed, who will conclude his five-year term as Registrar on that date.

Dr. Habib Yakoo, the Acting Director of Information and University Relations, announced the Council’s decision, emphasizing the university’s confidence in Mrs. Abdulraheem’s leadership as she assumes this vital role in advancing the institution’s strategic objectives.
