Lagos Police Officers Allegedly Extort 1 Million Naira from Corps Members

Today in Surulere, three corps members reported a disturbing encounter with police officers, claiming they were extorted 1 million naira. According to the victims, the officers kidnapped them, threatened them with firearms, and transported them to the Kafaru Oluwole Tinubu House, Area C Police Command.

The corps members revealed that their only offense was the absence of a physical copy of their driver’s license, a situation they had hoped would lead to a minor warning or fine. However, they alleged that the officers escalated the matter by forcibly taking them to the command center, where they were reportedly robbed of 1 million naira.
